I had a great conversation with someone today about joining Emerge. A story came to mind regarding the concept of environment and not being able to ‘unsee what you’ve seen’.

Circa age 19, my buddy Bret and I would go to Wal Mart and grab these $0.80 steaks to grill up. By themselves, they were barely edible. So we took out a hammer and ‘tenderized’ the hell out of them.

30 minutes later, you’d see us gnawing on this cheap meat laughing at those that pay $20, $50, $80 for a steak at a restaurant! We had ourselves convinced at least 😂

I’ve had too many good steaks now to ever go back!

But that doesn’t mean that I don’t feel like the cheap version of the steak at times. That my value isn’t up to where it needs to be. I’m sure we all struggle with self-worth issues at times.

Kobi Simmons has a great quote:

“A bottle of water is $0.50 at a store, $2 at the gym, $3 at the movies and $6 on a plane. Same water. Only thing that changed the value is where it is. The next time you’re feeling less worthy, maybe you’re in the wrong place”

If you’ve followed me, I’ve talked about ‘only flying first class’. This isn’t to brag about how much money I make or to appear like a baller. For me, first class travel puts me in an elevated state. It’s an environment that serves me.

David Osborn talked about buying a $44,000 car at an event I hosted. This was when he first started out and he thought it was a wasteful purchase. But he noticed how it gave him energy and pride to step out of that car and elevated his ability to get his job done.

Being in Gobundance for me is an investment I make because it places me in an environment that allows me to maximize my value.

Emerge is the same. Members consistently say they are more driven and executing on things they’ve been putting off for years - simply by being part of an environment that allows them to maximize their value.
